Another year of ISTE’s annual conference came and went. The largest EdTech conference of the year, ISTE, took place in Chicago this past week. Teachers, administrators and even groups of students came to learn from each other and find new tools to enhance the learning experience. This year, Genius XR gave expo tickets to help get more educators in the halls of education innovation.
Connecting and sharing with teachers was wonderful. We made new friends interested in the future of classrooms and augmented reality’s role in learning. Ginger Lewman (pictured left) chatted with us. We spoke about our newest feature rolling out in July 2018, XR Makerspace.
In our conversation, we discussed the merits of digital creation for visualizing thoughts and concepts. There is endless innovation when students can add their own ideas using multimedia. We look talked about student portfolios coming to life with augmented reality. The Genius XR team is excited to share this feature in the coming weeks and see what creative ways educators and students come up with to ideate and design think using augmented reality.
Overall, we heard from many voices about the ways augmented reality can help students. This is especially true for students who struggle to express themselves. AR can empower their voice as a platform to share their understanding. Genius XR looks forward to joining the #122edchat (sticker pictured) Twitter chat to continue the conversation with our education community, and listen closely to their needs.
